Eric Wang, OD, IACMM

Optometrist

Dr. Eric Wang was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Houston in 2015. Motivated by a lifelong interest in health care and a desire to make a meaningful difference in people’s lives, he went on to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry in 2019. Dr. Wang is board-certified and licensed by the Texas Optometry Board, reflecting his commitment to maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient care.

After graduation, Dr. Wang obtained his Therapeutic Optometric License from the Texas Optometry Board and earned certification as an Optometric Glaucoma Specialist, enabling him to diagnose, manage, and treat a broad spectrum of ocular diseases. His advanced clinical training included externships at Community Eye Clinic in Fort Worth, where he gained extensive experience managing complex ocular conditions, fitting specialty contact lenses, and providing comprehensive myopia management care. He also completed a rotation at Golden Eye Clinic in Center, Texas, where he served a rural patient population, performing corneal foreign body removals, minor surgical procedures, and managing advanced ocular pathologies.

Dr. Wang also holds the International Academy Certification in Myopia Management (IACMM), an advanced accreditation that recognizes his specialized expertise in managing and slowing the progression of myopia. This certification reflects his commitment to evidence-based, individualized care for children and adults with nearsightedness, incorporating the latest clinical approaches to protect long-term vision health.

Dedicated to helping patients see their best and maintain healthy eyes for life, Dr. Wang emphasizes education, prevention, and personalized care in every visit. He takes pride in creating a welcoming, informative environment where patients feel comfortable and confident about their vision care.

Outside of his professional work, Dr. Wang enjoys staying active through tennis, badminton, basketball, and billiards. He lives in Texas with his wife and daughter and values quality time with family just as much as caring for the vision of his patients.
